KitchenAid Tilt Head Stand Mixer Comparison ~ Artisan Vs. Classic Plus Vs. Mini

A KitchenAid Tilt Head Stand Mixer Comparison. Artisan Vs. Classic Plus Vs. Mini

KitchenAid has several models of stand mixers and today we’re going to review the three most popular: the Artisan, the Classic Plus and the Mini. All three mixers are robust in power with a 325 watt motor that is capable of exerting a torque of up to 325 lb-ft (1695 Nm). The difference between them is mainly their size, with the Mini being the smallest and easiest to store, while also coming in at a lower price point than either the Artisan or Classic Plus models. It also doesn’t come with a splash guard or glass bowl. The Artisan comes with both. The Classic Plus is larger than the Artisan and also comes with the splash guard and glass bowl, but it is slightly more expensive than the Artisan that lacks those two accessories.

The mixing action of these three KitchenAid stand mixers is very smooth, resulting in a very uniform mixture of the contents being processed, which results in few lumps or other inconsistencies in the final product being mixed. The performance level of these three models is very close and depends heavily on personal preference, which in turn also depends on what type of mixing job you are looking to accomplish. We’ve used all three models and would recommend that you try them out in person before making a decision.

Parting Shots:

What mixers have been the most useful tools in your kitchen? For me, it’s either a KitchenAid Artisan SPS-125 stand mixer or a KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart stand mixer . For example, this peach pie filling was produced with my 6 qt. Artisan SPS-125 and 5 qt. classic plus model .

The KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart stand mixer has become a go-to appliance in my kitchen. I use it daily and love its versatility. Besides baking it’s also great for making sauces, grinding meat and making a variety of other things that require mixing. I’ve put together an article showing how to replace the tilt head mechanism in an Artisan model . It’s one of those appliances that I’m sure you’ll never regret buying.

KitchenAid mixer comparison

It’s not uncommon to be confused when choosing a KitchenAid stand mixer. Aside from the three most popular models, there are many more that you can choose from. If you really want to make the right choice, read this article first. Here, I will compare all major KitchenAid models and show you how they differ from one another – except for sizes, that is. You need to take this into account for yourself because it varies depending on your needs.

There are many factors to consider when choosing a mixer.

The type of work you do in the kitchen

For example, if you bake very frequently, choose the best quality and most powerful model. If you only need it for kneading bread dough occasionally, you can save some money. On the other hand, if your main task is always mixing dough and making dough for a variety of dishes, the best choice is a model with removable bowl and extra accessories that will make your work much easier.

The size of your kitchen

The size of your mixer is basically based on two factors: the number of people in your family and the amount of space you have. If your family is small, a model with 1, 2 or even 3 bowls will be fine for you. However, if you’re planning to get a couple of kids soon or want to expand the number of people living in your home and start cooking for bigger groups, buy a model that offers additional accessories so that you’ll never run out of features. The budget limitations

Your budget should reflect exactly what kind of mixer your kitchen needs and what else it has to offer in terms of accessories. For example, the more accessories you get with your mixer, the higher its price will be. The same goes for the power of the motor. If you’re on a budget, avoid extra high-quality models and choose something that will fit your needs regardless of its power or other features. What really matters is that you choose something that’s not too cheap but also not expensive, comfortable to use and convenient in terms of design and space usage.

The following section compares most KitchenAid mixers available on the market today so that you can make an informed decision when choosing one for your home.

Before we start comparing models, there are a few things worth mentioning first:

Prices may vary depending on where in the world you live and what discounts are available. A Deluxe model, for example, might cost more in one country than another.

There are pros and cons to each mixer. To find out which model is perfect for you, I suggest you read this comparison chart first.

All models from KitchenAid can be used with either a stand mixer or a hand mixer, but you should especially look at this option if you have arthritis in your hands. Baking and catering professionals tend to prefer non-hand mixers. The same is true for pasta makers, fish and meat grinders, and other home cooks who don’t want their wrists straining as often. Hand mixers are ideal for beating eggs, mashing fruit or making bread dough . Otherwise, you might want to think about whether the extra power is worth it.

This model’s speciality is that it comes with three different beaters (or Dough Hooks) – a flat blade and two round ones. In other words, you can make traditional and fun mixtures, even those that are new to you. The professional-grade mixer comes with all the required accessories apart from a dough hook.

It’s important to note that this model has a powerful motor. This means that time spent mixing dough will be much faster and more convenient because food will move through the bowl much quicker and not be stuck in the sides of it, as can happen in other models if you’re still learning your way around them.

Pros Lightweight. Powerful motor. Comes with accessories (dough hook and wire whip) that are useful if you’re planning to make bread, pancakes, pizza or omelettes, among other things.

Comes with Accessories (dough hook and wire whip) that are useful if you’re planning to make bread, pancakes, pizza or omelettes, among other things. Additional accessories like a meat grinder or pasta rollers are available as well. Cons Expensive if purchased separately (about $1,600).

What is the difference between 4.5 and 5 quart KitchenAid mixer?

The difference between 4.5 and 5 quart versions is that the former has a larger capacity: 4.5 while the latter is 5 quart. Both models have three different speeds to work with and their motor can be transformed into a dough hook if necessary (both models have the same motor, but this option is simply not available on the 4.5 version).

It’s important to note that KitchenAid mixers have been designed to be used with multiple attachments called kitchen accessories which are usually sold separately. You can find all these accessories on Amazon and at other online stores. They’re handy if you want to make home-made pasta, grind meat, create a sausage or grind fish.

Does a 5 qt bowl fit 4.5 qt mixer?

This model comes with a 5 quart capacity bowl, but this is not the same as it fitting the mixer. The bowl will fit if you remove the cover and place it on the bottom of the base itself (you’ll have to remove it again when you want to change the attachments). Note that there are no interchangeability problems with other attachments, so you won’t have to buy a separate bowl for them:

The 4.5 model is equipped with all three speeds. The Professional (the highest) will last much longer than other two while they’re both powerful enough for most tasks which might normally require more power (for example, whipping cream or mixing dough). Note that the attachments don’t really intermingle with each other (they’re usually sold separately), so the 3 speed model is not really a 4.5 quart mixer.

Who should buy KitchenAid vs Kenmore?

If you’re a beginner in kitchen appliances and plan to use a stand mixer rather than a hand mixer, I’d recommend you go for this model as it’s much more affordable than Kenmore (which comes with fewer bells and whistles). The choice between these models depends on your needs and budget, although the professional category is a very useful one if you want an extra power boost.

If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative and plan to use your mixer mostly for baking, then I’d suggest you go with a Kenmore as it’s cheaper and comes with all the bells and whistles you might need (excepting only the optional 6 quart bowl).

The best thing about both models is their powerful motors, although Kenmore’s isn’t as strong as KitchenAid’s. As for their durability, KitchenAid is slightly more expensive than Kenmore but it will still be able to stand up to daily use in most cases. Both models have great feedback from users who have been using them for many years, so rest assured that you’ll get nothing short of excellent quality.

What color options does it come in?

Aside from black and white, this model comes in three color variations: blue, red and tangerine. The first two have yellow accents while the last one has white ones instead. These color options make it stand out from other models.

Clicking on any picture will redirect you to Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk where you can buy the product and have it shipped right at your doorstep (free shipping in the US and UK respectively). While you’re there, please use those same arrows to see a larger version of the photo or read customer reviews posted by others if they’re available.

What size mixer do I need?

The answer depends on how often you plan to use it. If you’re just starting out and will be making pancakes or homemade pasta with it, then I’d suggest you go for the 4.5 quart version. It’s a bit cheaper and will work for most of your needs with ease. If, on the other hand, you’ll be doing more serious baking then I’d suggest you go slightly bigger so that the bowl can accommodate larger quantities of ingredients and a larger quantity of batter (which will also save time). If this is your case please see our guide on choosing a mixer and a bread machine as they often overlap each other.

CONCLUSION:

Both models are great stand mixers which will have your cakes and muffins turned out perfectly in no time. But, if you can afford the extra money and want to invest in a more powerful motor, I’d suggest you go with KitchenAid as it’s harder to break (the metal parts like the bowl are made of stainless steel while they are plastic on Kenmore) and has a better brand name. I’d recommend you go with a more powerful model if you’re planning to do a lot of baking and will be using it daily as opposed to a hand mixer which most people can use at least once per week. If you’re not sure whether this is your case, then I’d suggest you buy an extra attachment (such as the dough hook) so that you can have all options covered and don’t have to worry about it. If this is what’s most important to you I’d suggest the more powerful 5 quart model (kitchenaid 5 qt) that comes with all the bells and whistles which are somewhat optional in other cases.
