• See page 10 for mixer speeds and dough hook speeds. Always use the lowest possible speed when beating, whipping or kneading to prevent ingredients from warming up too much.
• Avoid contact between the beaters and any side of the bowl to prevent damage to the mixer. • To remove the attachments from the bowl after mixing or beating, always grasp the attachment itself and carefully remove it from around the beater shaft.
• To remove dough hook from bowl, always grasp the dough hook itself and carefully pull it straight up and off the beater shaft.
• We recommend using a spatula to scrape down sides of bowls when using the Pouring Beaters or Dough Hook Attachment. Scraping down sides by hand is optional, but a spatula makes it easier.
Since my KitchenAid has been used for over 8 years now, I’m pretty sure this model is already replaced with the Artisan series. However, the 5-Speed Hand Mixer is still very much in production and widely available at many retail outlets including Amazon . This product is rated 4 1/2 stars out of 5 with over 10’000 reviews.

I do not know if this is an all plastic model or not, but it is definitely plastic. The cutting edge of the bowl is made out of steel and I don’t really care much as long as they are not too sharp to hurt me while using them.
There are 5 speeds on the mixer. Low, Medium, High, Turbo and Pouring Beaters.
Pouring Beaters is used to mix things like sauces and soups. Turbo speeds up the low speeds to give you extra power for your mixtures so you don’t have to do it yourself with a hand whisk or spatula.
Low puts out about half of the power at 15 W (check your manual for details) Medium is 35 W High is 50 W Turbo is 65 W Pouring Batter (not shown) I think uses about 30-40 W but I’m not sure how much exactly as it has been years since I’ve used this attachment.
The motor is a strong one and can handle the toughest doughs and heavy mixtures with ease. It gets hot, but not too hot to make you worry about burning yourself when using it. I even used it to mix rocks once, just for fun. You should be able to get this job done as long as you don’t overheat the bowl.
The tilt-back head makes it possible to use the mixer in many situations where a hand whisk or spatula cannot reach, like deep pots and bowls where you will have to place the mixing bowl on top of other bowls or holders. It also makes it easier to remove the mixer from the bowl. I think I have seen another model that can mix and pour at the same time, but I cannot remember what it is called. Sorry about that.
One downside, which seems to be common with most KitchenAid mixers and attachments, is that there are no markings on the speed controller to show exactly how fast each setting is going. It can only be guessed by observing how stiff or soft dough of batter gets.
This is not a big deal for me as I tend to use high speed for most things anyway, but it’s something you should know when buying this product. If you’re good at mixing or want to do some mixing on the side for fun, this product is awesome. It does everything I need it to do and does a good job in doing it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a strong 5-speed mixer with creative tools.
Is a 5 speed hand mixer good?
5-speed hand mixer is a must-have for a person who loves cooking. There are many types of mixers, but I would recommend you buy 5-speed hand mixer. KitchenAid 5 speed hand mixer is one of the best products on the market today. KitchenAid is a brand that has always been synonymous with quality industrial products of all kinds, so it’s no surprise that their mixing devices stand out from among their competitors in terms of efficiency and ease of use, which makes them so popular among all professional chefs and amateurs alike.
What speed is best on KitchenAid mixer?
To make a cream, for example, you need to beat the cream using the highest speed (the 4th in the case of KitchenAid). You can try to cut it with a wire whisk, or even by hand, but it will take you a lot of time. The best way is to use a mixer.
How many speeds?
Many people wonder what they are better: 2-speed or 5-speed mixers? I recommend that you opt for a 5-speed hand mixer. Although there are 2-speed instruments on the market, they have one serious disadvantage – there is no turbo mode. And sometimes this is very necessary, especially when making dough and some other dishes.
How many speeds does a hand mixer need?
The answer to this question depends on what you are going to do with your mixer. For example, if you are going to use it for baking, then 5-speed will be enough for you. However, if you want to make different sauces and dressings or mix eggs, then 2 speeds will not be enough for you. In this case, it is better to buy a hand mixer with 5 or even 7 speeds.
How does KitchenAid compare to other hand mixers?
As far as I know, the best hand mixer today is KitchenAid 5-speed hand mixer. It has standard program, which allows you to choose a specific speed according to the ingredients you want to mix. It also has Pouring Beaters and Dough Hook Attachment. It is capable of handling all kinds of doughs and shakes – from simple bread doughs to pizzas, cakes and even sorbet!
CONCLUSION:
I think if you have never used a mixer before, it may be a little difficult to operate a kitchen mixer for the first time. You should read the instructions carefully, understand and follow them so that you do not make any mistakes when using the machine. I have this mixer for over 6 years now and I am still using it almost every day. It is not only powerful enough to mix everything in my kitchen like bread doughs, cake batters, cookie dough with buttercream frosting, etc. It is also stylish and looks chic enough to be used in any professional kitchen or home.
