All you need to do is select your choice of pot from the table and adjust it to your desired level of pressure, then set the pot on your stovetop over high heat for 10–15 minutes.

There are three main parts to a pressure cooker: the outer pot, the pressure valve and the inner cooking element (a metal basket or rack that holds a tightly packed layer of food). The features displayed in this article describe how to use, care for and maintain all three of these components.
The outer pot has a large handle that can be used as a manual pressure release valve if needed. Its main purpose is to distribute heat evenly throughout the entire cooking unit. The handle should be turned at least once during normal operation and NEVER locked into place. If a leak develops in your cooker, turn off the heat source immediately and move the cooker away from heat sources – NEVER open the lid under running water.
The pressure valve is located at the top of the cooking unit. It is a regular kitchen pressure valve and should only be opened when you are releasing the pressure in your cooker. The valve has 3 positions: “3”, “2” or “0”. One position refers to how much pressure is present inside your cooker.
