So, if you want some great tips and ideas on how to use an air fryer, just stick around and keep reading!
1 . False: It only cooks food with hot air .
Okay, this one might have caught you off guard when you first heard it from me. The fact of the matter is that an air fryer can also cook with cold air at temperatures below 200 F. (It just takes a bit more time to cook certain foods.) You can even use it to cook leftovers.
2 . False: The air fryer is only for fast food .
In an air fryer, you have the option of cooking food at different temperature settings, from 176 to 392 F. And because these are hotter temperatures than actual kitchens use, you can’t just pop it in the oven and expect the food will come out the same way as usual. That being said…
3 . True: Using an air fryer does mean that you’re giving up on fat .
Many people are concerned about this, because they’re afraid that with an air fryer, they’ll miss out on the delicious taste of those fried foods. But this is far from the truth. For example, you no longer have to deep-fry your food – instead, you can cook it in the oven at the same time as cooking your other dishes.
4 . False: The air fryer is not for making just anything .
The fact of the matter is that an air fryer can do a multitude of things other than just make fast food. All you need to do is figure out what type of foods your air fryer can make and what temperature settings work best in these types of dishes. You’ve got a lot of options to play with!
5 . True: You don’t have to use your air fryer daily to get healthy meals .
This is something that might be a little difficult for people who are used to the idea of having fast food all day. But trust me, there are a ton of ways for you to make your own tasty foods. The key is in figuring out what works best for you.
6 . False: Air frying isn’t good for all kinds of dishes .
Though air fryers can be used to make fast food, it can also be used as a method of cooking some other types of dishes as well. For example, you can make desserts in your air fryer that are lower in fat than normal desserts. The nice thing about this is that you don’t even have to add anything special to your desserts to make them taste good.

  1. True: Air frying can be used to cook many different types of dishes .
You’ve probably heard the term “baked goods” before. These baked goods are made using a variety of things, from cake mix to cupcakes and beyond. How do you close the lid on an air fryer?

Well, if you’re inside, the best thing to do might be to have someone help you out. If no one is around and you’re outside, there are a few things you can try…
Option 1 : Grab some cardboard and stick it in the air fryer .
This will be your stop-gap until you can get inside and secure it.
Option 2 : Grab an oven mitt (or something heavy) and put it on top of the lid . This may work too, but remember that without proper ventilation, your food may not cook right. That’s why I don’t recommend this option.
Option 3 : Place something heavy on top of the lid. This may work, but remember that without proper ventilation, your food may not cook right. That’s why I don’t recommend this option.
Option 4 : Talk to a friend inside an air-tight home with an air fryer . If you’re in a situation like this, you can just have your friend or family member hold the lid down onto the air fryer and close it up to keep it from blowing open again.
Option 5 : Talk to a friend or family member in an air-tight home with an air fryer. If you’re in a situation like this, you can have him or her put something heavy onto the lid of the air fryer to keep it from flying open.
When you’ve got everything tethered down, your air fryer should now be secure and closed. But there’s still one more thing you can do…
What if I need to open it back up? When that happens, all you need to do is reach over and open the lid on top of the unit . This will take some delicacy, I know. But it’s not a lot of work, so hang in there.

What is the best time to use an air fryer?

You can use your air fryer for pretty much anything you would normally cook in an oven, but here are some additional tips to consider…
If you’re not sure whether you should use your air fryer or not, I suggest that you try it out on one type of recipe (like fried chicken) before you try other types. For example, if you want to make a fried chicken sandwich , wouldn’t it be great if your sandwich came out perfect? Yes. But you can do that in a regular kitchen too.
If you’re getting used to using an air fryer and have already tried some recipes, take note of any foods that seemed to do better than others. If you notice, it might be because the food was cooked in the air fryer at a low temperature , like 175 F.
If your food never seems to come out as crispy as it does when you cook it in an oven or on the stove, check out my tips for cooking with an air fryer . I give you all kinds of solutions for making your food come out crispy.
What is the temperature to cook food with an air fryer?
The temperature you should use to cook your food depends on which recipe you’re trying. For example, if you’re cooking fried chicken , I would suggest that you try cooking it at 385 F (190 C). If you’ve used a recipe before that required 325 F or higher, stick with it. You can always lower the temperature of your air fryer a bit once in awhile if you need to.

Can you clean the inside of an air fryer?

Yes, definitely . In fact, many people say that they clean their air fryers once a week. Here are the steps to follow:
First of all, you need to open the air fryer and take out the metal racks . Then you can use a damp cloth and some mild, non-abrasive soap (or a sponge) and wipe down the metal racks. Remember that you don’t have to completely remove any crumbs or dirt from them; what’s most important is that you get rid of any food that might have gotten stuck in between them.
Next, it’s time for the inside of your air fryer . If you have an air fryer that has a removable inside, I suggest that you take it out and wash it in your sink. If the inside is attached to the main unit, I recommend that you use some wet wipes or paper towels to clean the inside of your air fryer .
When you’re done, just put everything back into the air fryer . Make sure everything is dry before you put it back into the unit! Don’t forget about any pieces that might have become detached from one another. If there were any parts of your air fryer that had oil or grease on them, don’t worry about washing them off. Just turn off your air fryer and let it cool itself.
If some of your food is stuck to the inside of your device, you can use some of the following methods to get it clean .
Option 1 : If a piece of rice or bread got stuck on the inside, use a wet cloth (or paper towel) and rub it away. Sometimes, this can be enough to make a piece come loose. If not, for example if there is food stuck in between two metal rack pieces, try using a damp cloth and then rubbing the area with olive oil. This will help loosen up any food that’s attached to the metal rack pieces.
Option 2 : If a piece of rice or bread got stuck on the inside, use a wet cloth (or paper towel) and rub it away. Sometimes, this can be enough to make a piece come loose. If not, for example if there is food stuck in between two metal rack pieces, try using a damp cloth and then rubbing that area with olive oil.
Option 3 : If some food got stuck in between the metal rack pieces on the inside, you can simply use a pry tool to detach them (be careful not to damage or break any parts).
Option 4 : If some food got stuck in between the metal rack pieces on the inside, you can use some olive oil and rub into that area. This will loosen up any food that’s attached to the metal rack pieces.
Option 5 : If there is grease or oil that got stuck on your air fryer (for example, if you accidentally made a greasy pizza) you can use a pry tool (like a butter knife) and pop out the grease or oil.
When you’re done, just put everything back into the air fryer . Make sure everything is dry before you put it back into the unit! Don’t forget about any pieces that might have become detached from one another. If there were any parts of your air fryer that had oil or grease on them, don’t worry about washing them off.

How do I fix my air fryer handle?

Some air fryers have a handle on the lid of the unit. With this type of handle, it’s not uncommon for the latch that holds it in place to break.
For example, if your air fryer’s handle doesn’t even want to stay on, here are a few things you can try:
If you have a spare latch (or two) from another appliance that looks similar, use that instead. However, don’t use a latch that was originally for your air fryer .
Don’t use pliers or any other type of tool. This is because when you press the locking mechanism on the handle back into place, it could break. Instead, you can use your finger to press the latch into place… again, not like using pliers or something else that might be hard on the metal parts.
Once again, I want to stress that this is not an issue you should try to fix yourself. If something happens to your air fryer and you try to fix it with a tool you didn’t buy for that purpose, then contact a professional and let him/her fix it for you.
Is there anything else I can do to make my air fryer last longer?
If you use your air fryer frequently, then I recommend that you keep it clean . Take less time cooking by rinsing off your food when you’re finished with it.
However, if your air fryer is having a problem (for example, if the handle breaks or some other part is misbehaving) and you decide to do some of the things listed above, consider contacting a professional appliance repair person. They will know what’s wrong with your air fryer and give you an estimate on what kind of repair it will take.
Keep in mind: If the problem is not that severe and you have some time on your hands, you can consider fixing it yourself. If you decide to do this, though, make sure you’re careful.  For example, if your air fryer’s handle doesn’t even want to stay on, then remember that using pliers or something else hard on the handle can damage it.
In fact, if you do fix something yourself and it ends up being more complicated than you had originally thought (which let’s be honest… happens a lot of the time) then I recommend that you take your device back to the store where you bought it from and ask them for help.

What is wrong with my air fryer?

If you have any problems with your air fryer (for example, your handle broke, the unit makes weird noises, or the cords won’t stay connected to it), then try using the tips listed above. If it still doesn’t seem to be working right after you do that, then here are a few practical suggestions:
First, if you’re using your unit on a regular basis, then consider purchasing one of those extra long cord extensions , especially if you have a large family. The reason why I feel this is important is because if the cord portion of your air fryer gets wrapped around something (such as behind your furniture), it can start to break. Once this happens, you’ll end up with a half-broken cord. A can split open and become very dangerous.
Second, if you’re using your unit on a regular basis, I recommend that you keep it clean . This is because food particles can build up in the unit and cause some parts to malfunction. For example, if there is grease or oil residue inside the air fryer (for example, if you make something greasy like fries or chicken wings), then this could create issues with your air fryer. The reason why I say this is because grease will cause problems with the electrical contacts on the heating elements inside of your air fryer. The grease will also condense and create clogs in the air flow which can cause the air fryer to make strange noises.
Third, if you’re using your unit on a regular basis and you are having problems with it, then consider buying some extra accessories for your air fryer . This will allow you to still use your appliance even if one part becomes damaged or broken. There are all kinds of useful accessories you can purchase for your air fryer including:

  • A basket or tray that fits inside of your unit (for example, if your family really likes fries, then this would be a great addition).
  • A tray that holds your food in place (for example, if you want to fry chicken wings and fry them without them touching each other).
  • Additional “trays” that sit on top of the fryer basket (for example, if you’re steaming some broccoli to go with your meal).
  • Extra air vents that can be added onto the housing (for example, if you want to be able to have 2 or 3 different things cooking at the same time).
  • Extra air vents with a fan attached to them (for example, if you want the heat directed towards a particular place).

Why does my air fryer keep stopping?

If your air fryer keeps shutting off, then that’s an indication that something isn’t working correctly inside of the unit. For example, if the heating elements are broken, then they won’t be able to heat the oil properly and they’ll stop working.
For this reason, if your unit keeps shutting off and you have time on your hands (so you can do some fixing), here are a few things you can try:
First and foremost, don’t use it on a regular basis . If you keep using it while repairs are being worked on then the repair person will have to work harder when they come out to check it out.

While we have covered a lot in this guide, I want to stress that it applies to most air fryers on the market today. Indeed, most of them are very easy to use and will last for years if you take good care of them . All you really need to do is follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using your fryer, clean it regularly and keep the accessories supplied with it (such as the baskets or trays) in good working order.
You can also clear any little blockages in your unit’s air flow by removing the parts that attach it to your counter-top/table/etc.
