How To Repair A Blender – How To Repair Small Appliances

I’ve been fixing small appliances for a while now and I’ve learned a lot about repairing anything from microwaves to juicers, but up until recently I had never repaired a blender. The first blender repair job I did was because my wife dropped hers and it broke in half. It was a cheap old style blender with glass jars and it worked for about a year before it broke and I had to find out how to repair blenders.

This is a very simple to fix problem, and even if you’re not good at fixing things, this is a very good first timer job. I will explain how the blender jar works in this article so that you can understand the problem and how to correct it.

The most common issue I see with blenders, especially Oster blenders, is that the blade works when you take the lid off but stops spinning when you put the lid back on. This is usually caused because there is food or something else stuck between the blade assembly and glass jar. If you have a problem with the blender lid working when you put it back on, then there is probably something stuck in the glass jar.

If you look at the following picture you will see that there is no piece of food or other thing inside the glass jar and this allows the blade assembly to work when the lid is on. The blade assembly only turns when you turn on your blender by putting pressure on the blades, which creates friction that causes rotation.

It looked like her model had one of those plastic bodies you could just buy another one and swap it out, but the part she broke was actually the motor assembly so we were going to have to fix it. It turned out that there were two main reasons why blenders wouldn’t work after an impact: either the blade attachment or the motor attachment would be damaged when they hit hard flooring or countertops.

We managed to get the blade attachment working again and we went on a search for a new motor to replace the one that was damaged.

This is where I learned something new about blenders. The parts number for an ice blender motor is: HMB40L-1021. That’s not uncommon for any appliance, but it’s not really easy to find out what you need when you’re looking at an exploded view of a broken blender. There also isn’t much data online about how to repair one so I figured there must be some kind of guide or manual out there written by someone who actually fixed one themselves. Fortunately, the internet turned out to be a great place to find that information.

You can find all kinds of repair guides and official manuals for almost every appliance nowadays. Besides, most of the repair guides are written by different people who specialize in specific appliances so you’ll often find an explanation that even if you don’t have a specific model you can still read and get the basic idea about fixing your appliance.

Most instructions or guides will tell you what to do in case your blender breaks because when a blender breaks it often happens right after you’ve been using it and it doesn’t stop working no matter how hard you try. This is usually very frustrating and these guides will help you cope with the situation in a better way.

Sometimes a blender won’t start working because the button wasn’t pushed hard enough for it to start but often there are more serious problems that can leave you looking at a very expensive blender replacement.

This is where the repair guides come in handy, they will tell you what to do to fix your appliance and how to troubleshoot any issues that can arise from using your blender. Besides, most of them will have pictures and diagrams which you can easily follow if you want to learn how to fix your blender yourself instead of replacing it.

These will all be part of my post today, as I’ve already mentioned, I’ll be showing you how I repaired a blender and what kind of parts to get if you want to repair your own. To do this, I’ll use the exploded view of the blender my wife dropped but it should be pretty much similar to most blenders out there.

This is the kind of thing that we usually get from the manufacturer so most of you will have this. The first picture is an exploded view of the main body and blade attachment. As you can see, it’s pretty easy to identify the parts and if you have any kind of problem with your blender that might be related to these parts then I suggest looking at this picture as these are some common problems. The second image is an image of the blender motor assembly and it’s very useful because there are three or four important things to note down in case your blender stops working because of this part.

Today, we’ll be fixing our broken blender by replacing just the motor assembly. This will save us a lot of money because if we break it again there won’t be anything else to replace.

Video Transcript: Before we can begin taking your appliance apart, let’s talk about how to get everything ready for repair. You need to have an empty sink or counter for each appliance you’re working on; drainboards if you’re taking apart a faucet, and some towels or rags if you’re going to get dirty. You can also use plastic bags to cover the area around your appliance so you don’t get things too dirty. Now, if you’re working in the sink, make sure it’s clean and that there are no leftover food particles or water sitting in the bottom.

Do a quick rinse under cold water to clean out any food bits that might be stuck inside of the sink. And then turn on the hot water and let it run for a minute so you can watch for any leaks from underneath your sink. If there are any leaks, shut off that hot water valve before moving on with repairs. If you’re working outside of the sink, lay some towels down to catch any spills or drips from underneath your appliance.

You can also use a plastic garbage bag, and cut a hole in it to place over the drain to catch any drips – but don’t forget about that hole! Now you should be ready to go. If there is any water or food in the appliance you want to fix, turn off the power, and then unplug it. After everything is empty and clean, we can begin taking your appliance apart. The first step: removing any attachments that are screwed on.
