When it comes to food processors, price isn’t always commensurate with quality. As proof, consider my 12-cup capacity, $250 Cuisinart food processor. It bit the dust last week, after less than three years of use! Rather than buy another expensive processor, I decided to give the low-cost Black and Decker 8-cup model a try. Would you like to see what this $37 baby can do?
Unlike the current crop of high-end food processors, the Black and Decker is really easy to assemble and use. It’s easy to clean, too. The work bowl and lid are free of annoying nooks and crannies where food particles like to hide. And how does it perform? I gave it the following workout:
To test the chopping blade, I dumped a 28-ounce can of plum tomatoes into the processor’s work bowl. And received a perfect tomato puree in about 5 seconds.
Then I grabbed a bunch of parsley stems and leaves. And stuffed them into the work bowl.
A 5-second blitz produced finely-minced parsley! To test the slicing ability, I simply peeled and quartered a big onion. And then sliced it up on the slicing disk. The slices were thicker than I’d usually want, but that’s okay. I can always use my mandoline (or a sharp knife) to make ultra-thin onion slices.
Onto the shredding disk, which, rather conveniently, is the reverse slide of the sliding disk! Here, I took a brick of Cheddar cheese. And fed it through the machine’s feed tube. The Black and Decker shredded the cheese as well as — if not better than — my pricey Cuisinart did. In other words, it did not leave big chunks of un-shredded cheese atop the slicing disk.
How’d the Black and Decker handle pie crust? To test, I threw some flour, salt, and butter into the work bowl. And then pulsed the machine exactly 5 times. Next, I sprinkled some water over the butter and flour mixture.
And let the machine run until a crumbly mass emerged (about 30 seconds). Unlike my Cuisinart, the new machine did not leave any dry (read: unincorporated) flour at the bottom of the bowl. Hallelujah!

I like the way it is designed; it has two bowls, both bowls can be used separately or combined to form one large bowl. It has a removable blade cover so you can easily adjust the size of your slicing or shredding. It’s very durable, I use it often and so far I have had no problems with it.
I highly recommend this product for those people who need a quick meal prep solution for their families, especially if you have more than one family member preparing your meals. You can get a complete meal on one plate by mixing the items together.

How do you set up a food processor?
Here is an instructional video of how to set up the Black & Decker quick and easy food
processor. The video will tell you what parts are needed to make sure your Black & Decker
food process is reliable and safe. Your instruction manual should also be helpful if you are one
of the customers who have lost it.
I’ve never been more impressed with a kitchen appliance. I love my new food processor! It chops, mixes, blends and does everything that any other good food processor can do (and more) with less effort on my part. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to simplify their kitchen.
The food processor is not just for blending, it’s great for chopping, slicing and shredding. I love the stainless steel bowl design because it makes cleaning so much easier.
I just purchased a new Black & Decker quick and easy food processor, I love it! Not only is this quiet but it will do a lot more than your average, run of the mill food processor. The removable blade cover makes creating different sized foods a breeze. The Speed Control knob takes all of the guesswork out of creating different textures in your cooked foods like pasta or hamburger patties.
How do you use the dice on a Black and Decker food processor?
This video shows you how to use the dice feature on your Black and Decker quick and easy food processor. It will start off with the chopping feature. If you want, you can change it to the dicing feature by setting the speed knob at a different position. The blade cover should be removed first before you initiate this step.
What do food processors do?
Food processors are kitchen appliances that are used to chop, slice, or shred food into different sizes of pieces or even into fine or coarse mixtures. They do not have sharp blades that can create different textures in your food items because they have a small set of spinning blades in the center of its base where ingredients are inserted into them and blended. It’s the same principle as using a blender. The best food processors have multiple bowls and blades.
Do you have to replace the bowl every time?
The Black and Decker quick and easy food processor has several bowls that come with it. All of them are BPA-free plastic bowls, but it also comes with a stainless steel bowl. As long as you don’t leave your food processor for up to three hours when it’s not on, all of these bowls can last for a very long time. The best thing about having different sized bowls is that you can decide how big or small a dish you want your ingredients to be, depending on how skilled in cooking you are.
How do you use a Black and Decker Power Pro?
This video gives you a quick preview of how you can use the Black and Decker Power Pro. It will show you how to make your food processor start up again if you accidentally turn it off. It also shows you how to change the speed of the power pro by using the plus and minus keys on your machine.
It’s difficult to say which is the best food processor because it depends on your individual needs and wants. Your personal preference may be different from ours and that is just fine, because you are unique and so am I. Ideally, I would like to see a food processor that has three stainless steel bowls and two speeds of the blades rotating at different speeds in the center of its base. This way you can control how much or how little you want your food to be chopped up into pieces or shredded.
I hope this article on which food processor is the best for you will be helpful in making your decision on what kind of appliance to get for yourself. If you have any questions about this article, feel free to leave a comment below.
