Its kneading action cuts down on hand labor and produces dramatically better results than stand mixers or hand beaters would make. The mixer comes with a variety of attachments, but because it’s a 5-quart stand mixer, it has limited capacity. It’s not big enough to handle 14-pound batches of bread dough;

12 pounds is the maximum — which is still a large batch! In the dough mixing test, the K45BCP finished in 3 minutes and 26 seconds. It did a very good job kneading the dough and was able to mix almost all of our 10 ingredients into the gluten network.

The only thing we noticed was that it struggled with heavy flours, so watch for that if you tend to use whole grains or larger quantities of rye flour. For example, the K45BCP was able to knead the rye dough adequately, but we noted that it took a little longer.

At the end of the test, white bread made from starter in its removable bowl produced a beautiful loaf (which we enjoyed for a few days before presenting it for tasting). For those who are looking for a reliable stand mixer for commercial or professional use, this is definitely a good option.

KraftiMix PB-X2 Pro Bread Mixer

The PB-X2 is a reliable machine that performed well in our manual dough mixing test. It produced an excellent loaf of bread with an even crumb, a good rise and tangy flavor. British Baker Review by British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood This machine is extremely quiet, reliable and easy to clean, with a very simple design that makes it a great choice for both professional and home-based bakers alike. It took the most time to make our basic white bread because you have to mix the ingredients separately before adding them into the bowl.

This made it the most labor intensive pick and the Akkarsrum was one of the only machines to fail our manual mixing test. It took over twice as long as any of the other models to mix our 25 grams of starter, but it produced a nice loaf with a gorgeous shiny crust. We found that it produced a lovely moist loaf and finished by kneading for five minutes by default, although this can be altered if you wish.
